I haven't seen some of the other films you list but "The Exorcist" I remember thinking was scary and freaky when I saw it at nine and lame and disappointing when I saw it again in my late teens. “The Magdalene Sisters” which related the real life experiences and abuse stories of teenage girls sent to Catholic run homes for difficult, wayward, or ‘fallen’ teens in Ireland.
